Downloading and Using Adobe Acrobat Reader

To view this ebook once it's downloaded, you'll need a current version of Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer (it comes standard on most newer computers). Go to your Start Menu and view All Programs to determine whether or not this program has been installed on your computer. If you don't have this program, you can download it for free by visiting: Adobe Acrobat Reader's Free Download Page.

Follow the instructions on Adobe's site to download and install Acrobat Reader. Once this program is installed, it has an extensive "Help" file if you need it.  If Acrobat Reader is installed on your computer before you download the ebook, you should be able to double click on the icon for the ebook and it will automatically open in Adobe Acrobat Reader. You shouldn't have to do anything special within the Reader program to view or print the ebook file.

*Please Note: If you get an error message stating that your file is encrypted, damaged, or cannot be read or you have missing pages - you need to download and install a more recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (this is a free software).  Please see "Downloading and using Adobe Acrobat Reader"

I paid for the download but didn't get the ebook.

The ebook is not a self-executing program that pops-up after Paypal payment. The ebook is also NOT emailed. You must go to the download page and manually download the file and you do this via a redirect to the download page at the end of a successful Paypal payment, just like the directions indicate.

If you closed your Paypal window before you were redirected, you must write to us for a new link. Please write directly to katie @ aftertheaffair.net  and include the phrase "closed window" or "failed download" in the subject line of your email.

We respond to all emails daily.  If you have sent a request for technical assistance and have not received a response, your SPAM blocker is the most likely culprit.  Please disable your SPAM blocker and send us another email, making sure that your subject line is descriptive of your request.

I downloaded the ebook but I can't find it on my computer

First, do a Search in your 'Local Hard Drives' or your 'C Drive' for the file. Search all files for the words "Infidelity Crisis" and you should be able to find where it's located. If this doesn't work, search for file type "pdf".  When you find the ebook file - move it to a place that's easier to remember and then follow the above instructions for opening the file.

If you don't find the ebook file by doing a search - and you're sure you searched your C drive - then you probably didn't download it.  If you left clicked on the ebook link - or you right clicked and then clicked Open (instead of Save Target As) - then the ebook probably wasn't saved on your computer. If this is the case, email us from the email address you provided to Paypal during payment processing and we'll provide you will an alternate link to download the ebook..

Please write directly to katie @ aftertheaffair.net  and include the phrase "closed window" or "failed download" in the subject line of your email.

When I open the ebook, the print is too small to read

If the font (print) is too small to read - search your Adobe Acrobat screen for a magnification percentage - it should be located in the upper left corner of the tool bar (but it may be in a different location depending on the version of Reader you're using) - and change the magnification to 100% or more.

When I try to print the ebook, my printer stops after only a few pages

The settings on this document will allow you to print the ebook. If you're having trouble printing the ebook, try printing only a few pages at one time instead of printing the entire book at once - some printers will lock-up if you send them a large print job. With the ebook open in Adobe Acrobat Reader, click on the File menu (upper left of the menu bar/window) - then select Print on the pull down menu. Once your Print Dialogue Box opens, select a range of pages to print - and enter the page numbers in the correct box.  For example, 2-10 or 2, 3, 4 etc.

Help - some pages are missing!

The ebook should be 152 pages.  If you're missing pages, it is most likely that you need to update your version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (this is free and the link is below). If the version of Reader you're using will not support the ebook, the ebook will not read correctly no matter how many times you download it.  If the ebook does not read properly after you update your version of Reader, please email us for an alternate link to download the ebook again. Please write directly to katie @ aftertheaffair.net  and include the phrase "failed download" in the subject line of your email. We respond to emails daily.  If you have sent a request for technical assistance and have not received a response, your SPAM blocker is the most likely culprit.  Please disable your SPAM blocker and send us another email, making sure that your subject line is descriptive of your request.

Why shouldn't the betrayed spouse read this book?

If you're the betrayed spouse - you certainly can read the book but it will work better for your marriage if you don't. I'm not trying to hide anything from you and feel love for and compassion towards you. However, the book was written well after I began to heal - so I was able look at the situation with some degree of distance.  Would I have been able to do this while I was in the middle of my own crisis?  The honest answer is 'no'.   Hearing about the trauma of affair discovery from an outside party often aids in understanding while diminishing defensiveness, and if you've not read the book - your spouse will have time to evaluate its concepts without feeling defensive.  The book is pro-family, pro-marriage, pro-accountability, and pro-responsibility - it does not make excuses for or justify infidelity in any way.

Why did you use a 'pen' name to publish this book?

I used a pen name to protect the privacy of several individuals mentioned in the book - it's simply a variation of my given/birth name.

What is Paypal - is it secure - and what  to do if you can't afford the download fee

Our download fee is processed through PayPal.  Paypal is a secure web-based payment service used by many popular online stores and auctions including eBay.  All payment information supplied to Paypal is confidential - only your name and email address is provided to aftertheaffair.net for tracking or refund purposes.

Once you click on the "Buy Now" button located on our download page, a secure Paypal window will open. When the Paypal window opens, you'll enter your email address and payment information into their secure window.

Paypal accepts credit cards and most debit cards (such as Visa and MasterCard check-cards as well as recognized bank cards).  If you already have an existing Paypal membership and your banking information has been verified by Paypal (this isn't an instant process), they will also accept personal checks from your regular checking account.

The payment process is quick and easy and Paypal will email a receipt to you once your transaction is complete. Your card or bank statement will reflect a payment made to "Paypal-Katie" - it will not reflect a payment made to aftertheaffair.net  or to  katie@aftertheaffair.net

Once your payment is processed, Paypal will redirect your browser to the ebook's download site.  Do not close your Paypal window after your payment is processed!

For more information on Paypal or its secure
payment services, visit their Web Site.

If you cannot afford the download fee because of your financial situation or for any other reason, please email us at katie @ aftertheaffair.net to let us know.  We gift a large number of downloads every month (this is not an instant process).  To make sure we receive your request, use the phrase "gift download" in the subject line of your email.
